March madness continues

Jaxon loves his sister.  He still amazes us with his new words and things he can do by himself.  If he is wearing pants with elastic he can easily go to the bathroom by himself and wash his hands.  At BSF (bible study fellowship) one Wednesday morning he learned to use a stool and go to the bathroom standing up.  He can now do that at home and tells me he wants to go potty by himself. During the day when Jaxon is tired or something that comforts him is not a paci or a blanket.  He usually sticks his thumb in his mouth and with the same hand he sticks his pointer finger up his nose or he sticks his other hand down his pants.  Its rather gross, but he's a boy and I've learned thats what boys do.  When he wakes up in the morning he usually says "mommy I'm ready to get up" and doesn't get out of his bed.  He waits for us to come and get him.  That was my biggest fear, that he would get out of his bed, but now I think he's afraid to because he knows he will get in trouble.  He loves to look out his window and watch daddy leave for work.  If daddy has already left before he gets up he looks out his window and says "daddy is already at work" He has a really good memory and remembers where he has left his toys.  Brian will say, "you know what Jaxon" and Jaxon will say "daddy loves me"  I love it when he says "I love you mommy"  He's polite most of the time and says please and thank you without being prompted.  He still has a certain way of doing things and is good about putting things back.  In the morning he has an opinion on what he wants to wear- either monster truck, mcqueen, or brother shirt.

We've enjoyed being outside and Jaxon loves walking daily to a house under construction in our neighborhood.  He says "lets go see he's making a mess"  He usually pulls his wagon or pushes his lawn mower.  The other day was an exciting day because the cement mixer was there for us to watch. We love our neighborhood and he is really good about moving over to the grassy area and stopping and getting out of the way if cars are coming.

Kaelyn had her 4 month well visit and she wasn't gaining much weight.  So the doctors wanted me to add in an extra feeding.  She's been such a good baby and doesn't cry much.  Since she sleeps through the night she's not getting fed then.  So instead of pumping in the morning when I get up, I wake her up around 6:30 to feed her and then she goes back to sleep for a good 3 hours. She usually naps in the afternoon when Jaxon goes down.  I think we are now more on a routine.  Hopefully I can start leaving her in the nursery at church soon.  She holds her head up pretty well now and talks and smiles all the time.  She has turned over a few times.  The first time she rolled over was on February 21 when we were over at Brian's parents house.

She loves her feet

Quick visit with Mimmie and Pop Pop

Jaxon had a virus over the weekend with a slight fever and a really bad cough.  He never acted like he felt bad thankfully.  This was the first time I had a to take care of both kids with one child being sick.  Thankfully he wasn't too clingy and we got through it and nobody else got sick.

March madness

storytime time with 2 kids
Kaelyn enjoyed a piggy back ride

grocery store trip with 2

Happy 4 months
she likes to eat her socks, feet, and hands
she is talking alot more
she is a pretty happy baby
I try to mix up my week and we get out of the house some and stay at home some and that way Kaelyn can get a regular nap in the morning.  If we are out she will nap in the carseat or ergo.  Then nap again when Jaxon goes down in the afternoon.  We still don't have a consistent routine because she will get up in the mornings at different times.  Sometimes when she naps she will sleep through her next feeding.  I have loved our carseat canopy.  I will cover the carseat with it and it allows her to sleep better when we are out and about.  She still isn't taking a bottle.  She is trying to sit up in her exersaucer.  She loves her playmat.

Jaxon making a mess in the kitchen

We love going to the children's museum.  The only way to do it is in the ergo.

We've had some crazy weather and when its nice outside we take advantage of it and we are out playing.  Jaxon loves to ride his new scooter  and he loves his new helmet.  He wears it all the time outside even when he pushes his lawn mower.

We had Kaelyn's 3 month pictures (well really 4 month pictures) one morning and then the whole family got all dressed up for our church directory pictures.

He's not a little boy anymore.  Its so funny the words he comes up with.  I think he picks up words from hearing other people talk.
2 years and 10 months he still naps although this past weekend I thought he was giving up his naps. He skipped his nap Friday and Saturday.  This worried me because I need some down time in order to survive and be a better mom.  It takes him forever to lay down and go to sleep.  Most of the time he poops in his diaper as soon as I leave his room and come downstairs.  He usually has to pee a few times.  One day he was yelling out the window saying "Birds be quiet I'm trying to sleep"

More snow and our trip to Boone

We had alot of snow and Jaxon enjoyed it.  It allowed him to get used to it so he would be ready for our ski trip to Boone with our friends.

Brian is a really good skier and I haven't been since my accident in 2009.  Brian couldn't wait to take Jaxon skiing.  We decided to go with friends to make it more fun.  Our friends have a son around Jaxon's age.  I was a little nervous about the weekend.  I wondered how Kaelyn was going to do and how we would survive a hotel room with 2 kids.  We actually survived one night together in the hotel room.  Since Kaelyn sleeps through the night it made things a little easier.  We stuck to Jaxon's bedtime routine and gave him a bath and Brian read him a story in the bathroom while I was feeding Kaelyn and getting her to bed.  We surrounded Jaxon with pillows in the big bed and he didn't fall out.  But it took him forever to go to sleep.  I also wondered if Jaxon would do ok skiing.
It turned out to be a great weekend.  We skied on a Sunday which turned out to be not as crowded.  Jaxon loved the chair lift and skiing with his daddy.  Jaxon was a little scared at first on the skis but then got used to it.

We were just spending one night
