Growing Up

Jaxon continues to love racing around the house using his walker.  He loves to chase Brian around the house and sometimes Brian will have Jaxon's other walker and they will race. He hasn't started walking yet, but i think he is close.  He will hold onto both hands and walk.  He will also hold on to things and move from the couch, to the end tables, to the wall into the kitchen.  He will find a way to get where he wants to go.  He is very independent and loves to entertain himself.  One of our windows sits low to the ground in the living room and he loves to look out the window as well as the front door.  Sometimes I think he knows what time of day that Brian will get home from work and he will look out the window and wait for him.  When Jaxon sees Brian at the end of the day or when he wakes up he gets so excited.

He is now taking one nap a day.  Most days he will wake up around 9 and sometimes earlier and then he will nap again around 1pm.  He is drinking whole milk. I gradually stopped nursing him soon after he turned one.  So thankful he lasted that long.

We had alot of fun at Jordan Lake over Memorial Day.  The water was too cold for Jaxon though. He wasn't too sure about being in the kayak with Brian either. Brian and I took the kayaks out and the inlaws kept an eye on Jaxon for us.

I just love hanging out with the girls in our playgroup.  Jaxon wasn't too sure about the pool.  He loved it last year but he was still a little small.  Its been a little hard lately because Jaxon is so mobile and I feel like I have to chase him around to make sure he doesn't get into any trouble

This is what he looks like in the morning.....

I have put off giving him a hair cut because I'm so nervous that I won't be able to do it right or it will look awful.  He also had to look good for his cousin's wedding.  So here goes....

He looks like a little man. He is growing up too fast for me.

Prayer for Jaxon

Psalm 63:8, "Lord, please instill in my child a soul with a craving for You, a heart that clings passionately to You."

This has been an incredible year as God has blessed us to be Jaxon's parents.  Its been an amazing journey has we have watched him grow and try new things.  We can't believe its been a year already.

We are praying that Jaxon will come to know the Lord early in life.  As parents we pray for wisdom as we raise him.  We are so thankful for the love and support we have from friends, family, and our church.

Some things that God has taught me.
*As a stay at home- I can't do it all.  There will always be tomorrow. I can't be Supermom
*Use every moment/opportunity I have to spend with Jaxon because he will grow up fast.
*Its ok to ask for help
*God has me right where He wants me
*Make time for the hubby

What a joy it has been to take care of this little guy.  This year has gone by so fast.  I look forward to many more years of being his momma.

I love you Jaxon.
God thank you for choosing Brian and I to be his parents.

Jaxon is 1 year old

Jaxon is already 1 year old. Its so hard to believe.  This year has really gone by fast. Its been amazing to watch him grow.  So thankful and blessed to be Jaxon's mom.

Jaxon had a farm themed birthday party and it was so much fun to plan.  I'm not that creative but thanks to pinterest and my friend with the printed decorations, it turned out really well.  He really enjoyed his cake.  So thankful family and friends could be there to help us celebrate.  Mimmie and Pop Pop and Great Aunt Gloria stayed with us for the weekend to help get ready for the party.  Grandma and Grandpa Jordan, Aunt Susan, and Great Grandma Bessie came as well.  We also had our play group friends, small group friend, friends from church and friends from Raleigh that came for the special occasion.  Jaxon is so loved.

12 month check up
Weight- 19lbs and 13oz
Height-2 ft and 5.5 inches tall
Head circumference- 46.75 cm

He has moved up to 25% for weight yay!!!
He enjoys black beans, chick peas, avocado, green beans, acorn squash, sweet potatoes, applesauce, yogurt, and peas.  He loves to feed himself and make a mess.
He is also drinking whole milk now.  Trying to wean him off breast milk.
Still no teeth, but somehow he bit a hole in his sippy cup.
His teeth will bother him off and on.  The doctor says they are coming in and when they do it will be several at a time.
He is making all different sounds now- Mimimimi, Mamama, Bababa and Nanana.  His screams are more high pitched now.  Sometimes we will have a screaming contest.
He can pull up on almost anything and hold on and walk.
He loves to pull the Kleenex out of the box and he loves playing with the toilet paper that he will find in the bathroom.
Most of the time he will wave his hand goodbye if we ask and we think he is trying to say bye-bye.
If we ask him to give us something that he is playing with he will hand it to us.
Jaxon has graduated to a different walker.  He makes laps around the house and is really good at turning around or moving it if something is in his way. He walks like a penguin.  He would fit in at a nursing home with his walker.  Its so cute.  It was a great buy at a consignment sale.

Fun times with friends

My friend has been out of the country for a while and now has moved back and she just had twins.  Several of our fellow Elon friends got together one afternoon.  We had alot of fun.  It was crazy to look at all the kids and talk about life since college, which was about 10 years ago.
Me, Laurel, Becca and Ashley

We went to a weenie roast with our Sunday School class.  We kept Jaxon contained in his wagon.

We had a cook-in since it rained with several of our friends from our play group

So fun to get together with friends that are in the same stage of life with you.  Thankful for all our friends and their babies.
