Jaxon has some news to share

At the end of February we found out that Jaxon is going to be a BIG BROTHER!!! We miscarried at the end of October last year and God has blessed us and we are due the end of October this year.
I think Jaxon is really excited and he will be a great big brother despite the reaction on his face.  He likes to lift up my shirt and say "baby" and recently he has been kissing my belly.
They say with baby #2 you show sooner, which I think is true.  I feel like I'm showing but the scale doesn't seem to show that I'm gaining much weight.  I've been tired at the end of the day which doesn't surprise me since Jaxon keeps me busy.  I've struggled with migraines and my allergies, but that happened when I was pregnant with Jaxon as well.  I enjoy pizza, ice cream, doritos, and chocolate.  I love taking trips to Chick Fil A for their ice dream or going to Cook Out for their shakes.  Since Jaxon has been keeping us busy we seem to have to remind ourselves that we are expecting another one.  It can be overwhelming at times and I think how am I going to keep up with both of them.  But we know it will be fun.  We aren't sure when Jaxon will be giving up his crib.  I would like to keep him in there as long as possible.  But he has already tried to climb out but thankfully he hasn't been very successful. We decided that we are going to wait until the baby is born to find out the gender.  It'll be fun and thankfully we have all the essentials.

Lots of Snow and Ice

Its hard to believe that Jaxon is 22 months old, almost 2 years old.  He is picking up more words each day and doing things more independently.  He loves to repeat things we say.

His new words....
Marsha
chair
diaper
happy happy joy joy
muffin
choo choo
plane
Joshua
horsey
help me
what??
he will say the prayer at meal time- repeating each word we say- Dear God, Thank you for our food. Amen

Lately Jaxon is spoiling me by being a great sleeper.  He can sleep in until 8am sometimes longer. Most days he will nap from 1-4pm and sometimes longer.  How long he sleeps in depends on when he goes to bed.  One night we went out to eat and Jaxon was an angel as we waited 40 minutes for our table.  we didn't get home until 9:30.  He slept all night and had to wake him up for church the next morning.  He is also a great eater.  He loves an egg on toast for breakfast or oatmeal with blueberries and prune juice.

Jaxon's buddy Parker turned 2 and we had fun celebrating with some of my mommy friends and their kiddos.

Thankful for my friends from our small group.  We had a Tea Party/baby shower for my friend Ashlee to celebrate her 3rd child getting ready to join their family.

Our weather lately has been pretty crazy.  It will snow or ice/sleet one day and then the next few days will be sunny and gorgeous, warm enough for short sleeves.  Then it will turn cold again. Brian hasn't had one complete week of school for a while.  Its been nice to have Brian home on days schools are closed. We are ready for warmer weather though.

At the beginning of March we had more snow than expected and people were without power for days.  Thankfully we didn't loose power.

In the middle of March we had more ice and school was delayed and then closed early one day and was closed the next.

We are so ready for spring so it was time to make a new wreath for the front door.

Jaxon loves playing outside.  We love having a playground nearby.  Jaxon loves to go down the slide by himself now.  He also loves to help daddy in the yard and fine sticks to play with.

I made some bath paint and Jaxon loved being an artist in the bathtub.  I had to find something to entertain him since I had a cold for like a week.

My friend from college had a shower to introduce her adopted daughter to everybody.

Jaxon had his 1st visit to the dentist and we survived.  His favorite part was the touch screen video games in the waiting room.

After naptime Jaxon loves to look out the window and wait for daddy to come home.

Valentines Day and fun in the Snow

Jaxon and some friends from church went to a nearby nursing home to pass out Valentines.  We had a great time.  The people's faces lit up when the kids gave them Valentine cards that they had made.

After seeing how much the people enjoyed getting cards, we decided to make them for a few friends and all the grandparents and great grandparents. Thanks to pinterest I think they turned out pretty cute.

Starting on Wednesday February 12, our area got hit with a bunch of snow causing Brian to have a short week at school.  Jaxon and I were so excited to have Brian home for 3 days so we could play in the snow.  I think we got around 8inches.  Jaxon absolutely loved the snow.  We didn't have a chance to buy snowpants or boots so we improvised.  I layered him up and tied grocery bags around his shoes and it worked out just fine.  We even walked over to our friends house and Jaxon and Andrew went sledding together.  Usually I have to chase Jaxon all around the yard, but thanks to the snow he didn't move quite as fast and Brian and I made our snowmen family while Jaxon entertained himself.  Our driveway and some side roads in our neighborhood had great sledding hills.  Jaxon loved being pulled in the sled and going fast down the hills with us.  We also enjoyed eating some snow cream.

New words

Love you- "Wuv you"

Thank you- "tink you"

Broccoli- "Brock B"

My mother in law taught him to say "Jaxon is very special" (although you have to help him say it one word at a time)

He recognizes who Mommy and daddy are and calls us by name.  He says Jaxon when I point to him

He will say "Help"-and then hold on to one of our fingers, he will lead us around and show us what he needs help with

TV- He will point to the TV when he wants it turned on

Roadtrip

Brian decided to go visit his brother and his wife out in Arizona for 5 days so Jaxon and I decided to take a road trip to visit Mimmie and Pop Pop.  Thought I could use the extra hands and time with my parents.  We also got to visit with my dad's family who live in Maryland.  They came to visit so we could celebrate my Grandad's 87th birthday.  Jaxon got into everything and stayed busy around their house.  But we had a great time.  We decided to stay an extra day because it was supposed to snow back home so that left Brian without a ride home from the airport.  He decided to volunteer and take a later flight to get a $500 voucher to fly another time.  He ended up taking a taxi home.  I was so nervous and couldn't sleep until I knew he had gotten home ok because the snow and ice started around dinner and he didn't get home until midnight.

Brian returned Tuesday night and wanted to go skiing again that weekend because Boone had just gotten some snow.  So he and a friend went for the day and Jaxon and I had a playdate with is buddy Andrew with a trip to the children's museum.
