New Year and lots of snow

Can't believe its 2016. Where has the time gone.

Jaxon is still napping....Thank The Lord. I'm going to enforce it as long as I can.  Jaxon and Kaelyn go down around the same time and sleep most of the afternoon. Usually 3+ hours. There are days when it takes Jaxon longer to go down because he comes up with a million excuses or things he needs- he needs to go potty, give me a kiss or a hug, tell me thank you for taking him potty, turn on his fan or humidifier, put something back in the right place (he's very OCD) But for the most part he wants to go take a nap and its not a fight.  I feel very blessed for that time in the afternoon.  But I still can't get everything done during naptime.  It goes by too fast.

They love playing with their new kitchen together.  Jaxon loves to call us up on the phone and take our orders.  If he is up when daddy leaves in the morning he usually makes lunch for daddy to take to work with him.  Usually grapes and corn and whatever else he makes.

He loves to play ball catch, which really means he wants to throw/roll a ball back and forth.  He loves to play with his sister.  He takes good care of her.
He can be disrespectful at times.  He'll say "mommy whatever" if I tell him something.  We have told him not to say that word that it doesn't sound nice. Sometimes Brian and I will say "whatever" but in a different context.  Jaxon will catch us saying it and is quick to tell us not to say that word.

I registered him for preschool next fall.  Its kind of sad but I'm kind of looking forward to it.  It'll be good for him.  The preschool is not far from the house and I love the program.  He will go 3 days a week.

Kaelyn is growing so fast. Its hard to believe she is almost 15 months old.
She blows kisses on command or when we say "say good night to brother"
She still sleeps great- unless she is teething, which honestly it seems just started bothering her.
On January 3 she got her first ear infection. She had been keeping us up at night crying.  That was really the only symptom she was having. She had been congested and then pulling at her ear some but not much.  I took her to the doctor and of course had to wait.  It's hard for her to wait and be still while sitting on our laps now.  So it was a little challenging keeping her occupied in the waiting room.  Once we got in a room to wait on the doctor she enjoyed taking things our of my purse.

She's a pretty happy baby.
She's started to feed herself and loves to sit up to the table with her own plate.  She makes a mess but loves to watch her big brother eat with her.

She loves to push buttons and especially loves the remote controls

She still isn't walking but does pretty good with pulling up and walking along the couch and being independent. She has 2 teeth on the bottom, 4 teeth on top and 2 more on top coming in.

We went to this playground equipment warehouse for the first time with friends.  They open it up 2x a week for the kids to come and play on the equipment and play on the trampolines.  Jaxon loves the trampoline.  We had a hard time getting him off of it.  We went the very next day for a birthday party and showed daddy the cool place.

Having lunch with daddy at work

We went skiing and left Kaelyn with Brian's parents.  Our friends couldn't make it so the 3 of us went instead.  It was great to spend some extra time just with Jaxon.  It was pretty cold only 9 degrees. After almost 7 years I rent skis and boots and got on the slopes.  I was a little nervous but managed not to fall.  Although I will add that I almost got taken down by an out of control skier on the "magic carpet ride" or lift on the bunny slopes.  Kaelyn spent an extra day with my inlaws when we sent skiing, until we could go pick her up, so Jaxon and I had a date.  I asked him what he wanted to do, he said he wanted to go to the museum where they have a fire truck, race car, and police car.

At the end of January Brian was supposed to go on a men's retreat with the church and I was supposed to head to see my parents with the kids.  I'm glad we ended up not going.  The retreat was cancelled and my parents got 18 inches of snow.  We got maybe 3-5 inches. We got snowed in for several days which meant daddy was home.
We had fun sledding and playing in the snow.  Kaelyn loved riding in the sled with big brother. One day while being snowed in Brian took Jaxon to the museum.

At the end of January we went skiing again in Boone just for the day and this time our friends came too.  The moms got to watch and take pictures.  This time the weather was perfect.  The boys did great. Such a fun time.  Kaelyn stayed home with Brian's parents.  She wouldn't have done well being still and watching the boys ski while sitting in our laps.
