February Fun

We made some special Valentines for the grandparents, great grandmas, and for our special friend, Janel, who has cancer.

We went with our Life Community class from church to deliver Valentine cards that the kids made.

We took advantage of some of the warmer weather to get outside.  Jaxon loves to ride in the bike trailer and play with his friends.

Jaxon is doing pretty good with potty training.  Here is a sticker he gets to wear at church "potty training in progress"  He has been wearing his undies when we are out of the house now.  He still hasn't mastered going "number 2"  He usually goes in his pull up right after he gets in bed for naptime or he will go in his undies.  So proud of him.

On Valentines weekend Jaxon went to stay at Brian's parents house.  Kaelyn joined us for our dinner date Friday night.  We stayed in Saturday night and cooked dinner.  We played a game and tried to be more intentional since we pretty much had time to our ourselves.  Thankfully Kaelyn was low maintenance that weekend and we enjoyed being together. Then we got to go pick up Jaxon and visit with Brian's parents and Aunt Sue Sue.

I've tried to find fun things to do inside thanks to pinterest.  I made some bath paint and made a ballon rocket.  He loves playing with his hot wheels and his kinetic sand.  We also made cookies. We were pretty proud of our track.  The cars made 10 laps around the track.

Pinterest craft for all of Kaelyn's headbands

We have enjoyed the snow.  If it snows and schools are out that means daddy gets to be home. The boys got out to enjoy sledding with friends.  Jaxon didn't seem to enjoy sledding by himself.  He would rather get on the sled with daddy.  We have some great sledding hills at our house.  Our driveway and on the side of our house.  Since we didn't shovel our driveway it was a sheet of ice making it hard for me to drive my car up the driveway.  I had to quickly put my brakes on and wait for Brian to come rescue me when my car started to slide down the driveway. They had early release on a Monday February 23, because of weather and then the kids didn't go to school for the rest of the week.

Happy 3 months.

Can't believe sweet pea is 3 months old already. She is smiling a lot especially when big brother talks to her. She is trying to roll over but only makes it to laying on her side. She is getting more hair. We heard her laughing for the first time. She is holding her head up more. She's a pretty happy baby. She's not on a regular schedule yet but she takes 2 good naps. She naps better if I put her upstairs where it's quiet. She is still sleeping through the night.  We will put her to bed between 8-9pm and she will wake up around 8am or so.  I am so thankful because I need my sleep with an active 2 year old.  I've been pumping first thing in the morning (6:30) or so whenever I wake up.  So I have quite the stash of milk but she doesn't seem to like the bottle yet.  We are still working on it.  She is still spitting up but its getting better.

Big brother loves his little sister. He always makes us laugh with whatever comes out of his mouth.   Its amazing the words he puts together.  He loves hot wheels, trucks and his trains. He loves watching Mighty Machines and the movie Cars.  He has the greatest memory. He will notice things when we are driving and will remember it later or when we drive by the same place days later. He loves to build things. He is very independent.  He loves when daddy is home so they can wrestle and chase each other.
He's really good about communicating about what he wants. We drove to visit family the other Saturday and he was crying in the car saying his tummy hurt.
He's doing pretty good going potty. I still put him in a pull up when we go in the car. He's still not pooping in the potty.
He loves to eat oatmeal, yogurt, eggs, grits, or pancakes for breakfast.
He loves fruit and hummus.
He's not a picky eater. He will pretty much eat whatever we are having. We try to give him healthy foods and tend not to not give him much sugar. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can play outside.
We spend our days inside much of the time since its so cold.  Thank you pinterest for giving me some fun creative ideas.

When daddy is away we get to play at Mimmie and Pop Pop's house

Brian went on a Men's retreat with the church for the weekend.  So I decided to make the 5 hour+ road trip to mom and dad's house in VA with the kiddos.  I didn't really want to be by myself at the house and could use the extra help with the kiddos.  So we left on Thursday and didn't come back home until Tuesday.  Kaelyn got to meet her great aunts, great uncle, friends from church, my high school friend Charlotte, and mom's friends from her doctor's office.  We had a great visit and Jaxon enjoyed quality time with mimmie and pop pop.  The kids did pretty good in the car.  We just had to stop like 4-5 times for Jaxon to go potty.  I put a pull up on him just in case, but he still told me when he needed to go to the bathroom.  So thankful we could go visit.  Thanks mom and dad for all your help.
