Nesting and ABC's

For the past several weeks Brian and I have been sick with colds, just like everyone else. I think we have been passing our germs back and forth and this weather sure hasn't helped. I have also heard that I should expect these symptoms with the pregnancy. Thankful we didn't have a crazy cold winter, but I believe spring has come early. Yay for warmer weather. So glad I don't have to be miserable and pregnant during the summer.

I had a fun filled weekend this past weekend. My parents came into town for the baby shower and help to organize the nursery.

We had another ultrasound appt. They estimated the baby to be almost 6 pounds. They could be a little off. I am hoping so. We could see his hair on his big head. They said he was an overachiever.
We are at 34 weeks!!!! 6 more weeks to go.
We went and ate lunch at Harpers- really good restaurant. Then to Chic Fil a for yummy Ice Dream.

While my dad and Brian went to run some errands and have some guy time at Home Depot and Lowes, mom and I went to get a mani and pedi.

For dinner that night we showed mom and dad how to make sushi. I think they actually liked it.
No raw meat of course. We like making our sushi with mango, carrots, peppers, cucumber, avacado, shrimp, crabmeat, seaweed salad, and fish eggs, and with Brian's special peanut sauce. Look at their beautiful creations.

Saturday was our big day with family and friends....
My awesome friends Jaclyn and Amy hosted a baby shower for us. It was so much fun. It was an ABC theme. Thanks to my sister and Pinterest, my friends decorated different letters of the alphabet for the baby's room. Can't wait to put them up on the wall. So thankful for family, friends from church, school, and friends from our church in VA to come and help us prepare for Baby J. While the ladies were having fun at the shower my dad, Brian, and Roger had some guy time.

For dinner we grilled out and hung out with friends and family who were from out of town that had come to the shower.

After the shower mom, dad, Brian, and I got things organized in the nursery. I am feeling so much better about things. Mom helped me wash some of Baby J's clothes and get things in order so we could actually see the carpet in his room. We also had to go to Target, Walmart, Kohls, and Babies R Us to take some things back and buy a few things. We were pooped after a long day.

On Sunday we went to church and had lunch and cleaned up a little more and got the curtains figured out. Then my parents had to leave to go back home :( So thankful they could come and help.

This coming weekend....
If the weather cooperates.....We will get our maternity pictures taken. So excited!!!

This is Brian's latest project.....
a bed side table to match the crib and dresser in the nursery

Graduated

Last week we graduated from our Birth and Baby class. I guess that makes us experts and we are supposed to be really prepared and ready now. We do feel very educated and they gave us plenty of information. Now I wonder if we will remember all of it once we get to the hospital.

My hubby has been sick with a cold for the past 6 days. Its probably the crazy warm/cold weather. Or he may have gotten it from me. Praying that I won't catch what he has. So thankful I have felt pretty good while I've been pregnant. My allergies have bothered me off and on. I did have to take some time off in February because I was sick.

This weekend Brian goes to "Daddy Bootcamp" class. Maybe he will get some good tips. I know he will be a great Dad anyways.

Can't believe we are already at 32 weeks. It won't be long now.

Camping Themed Shower

This past weekend we went to my parents for another shower. So thankful for family and friends that helped us prepare for Baby J's arrival. We got some clothes, books, and some other necessities. My wonderful aunts, my sister, my mom, and 2 girlfriends from high school planned the shower. It was a camping themed shower. They were so creative with the food, decor, games, and party favors. They worked really hard.
While we were having fun. The guys (Brian, his dad, brother, my dad, and brother in law) went out and had some guy time.
